• Colleen Kirby and the Miracol Papillons are located in New Castle County, Delaware. She focuses mainly on showing her papillons in conformation with her limited breeding program.
  
  
• Colleen has owned several different breeds of dogs growing up. Though her first was an Afghan Hound, which she adored, she knew down the road a small dog would fit perfectly in her lifestyle. When Kirby, or otherwise known as CH Loteki Supernatural Being, graced her TV screen years ago to a Best In Show finish at Westminster - she knew that was the dog for her! Time passed as she continued to show her horses in dressage and hunter/jumper competitions. The papillon was still lurking in the back of her mind.
  
  
• Finally, the time was right and she welcomed a sable and white boy into her life. A portion of his registered name is "Lone Mirage" and his call name is "Colby". Since he got her into this nonsense of showdogs and an endless love for this breed, in honor she named her kennel "Miracol". Mira coming from MIRAge and Col coming from COLby. What better way to let Colby live on forever!
  
  
• The papillons raised at Miracol live inside Colleen's home. In fact, several take residence on her bed in the evenings, and all take turns on the couch. Absolutely no kennel dogs there! The papillon is a companion breed and thrives with human companionship. Her babies are born in a spare bedroom (where Colleen sleeps for 3+ weeks!), away from chaos and nosy relatives. When they are 4 weeks old they are then moved to the living room to experience daily noises and stimulation. All puppies are litter box trained - as this aids in their housetraining.
  
  
• All dogs used for breeding are tested yearly for knee, heart and eye problems by a veterinary specialist. Health is of the utmost importance!
  
  
• The weekends are often spent at the dog shows! The papillons enjoy their weekend excitement of getting pampered, groomed and getting yummy treats (known as bait) in the ring.
  
  
• For a couple of years now, Colleen has been co-breeding with Suzanne Hannon of WayToGo Papillons in Hartford County, Maryland. Both ladies are so fortunate to have world reknowned lines like: Siljan's, Queen Bless, Silenzio, Ringlands, KenMar and Forevr. They are excited to see what the future holds.
  
  
• To get to know Colleen more: She is a veterinary technician at Pike Creek Animal Hospital, where all of her papillons are taken care of! She also grooms at The Doggie Playhouse every once in awhile!  In her spare time (ha!) she enjoys playing piano, YouTube-ing!, watching new movies and enjoying her passel of paps.
